Threshold Training

One of your goals during your off season training  should be to increase your lactate threshold.  In order to increase your threshold you want push your heart rate to your LT and maintain that heart rate with minimal rest.  By increasing your threshold you will be able to swim at a higher intensity during your race without producing lactic acid and therefore decreasing over all performance.

400M Pull warm up

10-15 x 200 @ LT Threshold w/ 10 sec recovery

400M Cooldown
