Chest Workout-Functional Muscle Endurance
5/16/10
The purpose of this workout is to creat functional muscle endurance in the chest muscles. We do this by prefatigueing the chest muscle with a standard exercise and then take it to failure by supersetting with a functional push-up. By doing this we teach the body to remain functional (i.e. create power and stability) when fatigued. For the standard exercise you will want to do 3 sets of 15 adding weight each set. You will reach failure on each set with the functional component of the superset. You will want to rest 30 seconds to 1 minute between supersets.
Superset #1: Bench Press-Lateral Plyometric Push-up on Medicine Ball
Superset #2: Cable Fly's-Plyometric Push-up
Superset #3: Incline D.B. Press-TRX Push-up
Superset #4: Decline D.B. Press-Swiss Ball Push-up
