Don't let the dirt at the bottom fool you. This trail is still entirely snow packed (except the first quarter mile). Once you pass the bathrooms you will find a mixture of soft snow and ice as you head up the Owl's Perch Trail. As you turn left at the trail junction and head for the summit you will have easy snow hiking until you reach the Old Ski Run Trail. Old Ski Run, has a little more ice but it's not too bad. The loop at the top is also snow packed with a little ice. As you return to the base you will find the same conditions on the Sunny Aspen Trail and Lodgepole Loop. I would only hike this trail since the snow is too soft in most areas to get traction on a bike.
