Meyer Ranch Park

5/9/10

You will find the Owl's Perch Trail to be dry up to the restrooms and then just a small soft spot beyond.  Heading up the summit via the Lodgepole Loop and the Sunny Aspen trail you wil find wet tacky conditions with a few spots that I am sure will get soft by mid morning.  Once you reach the shelter and head for the summit you will find a half dozen spots, none more than 10m long that are icey.  Most of them have enough dirt on them that traction isn't an issue.  Same can be said for the loop at the top.  Descending down the West side  of the Sunny Aspen Trail is dry and in good shape.  I would then take a right at the fork and return across middle of the mountain.  I made the mistake of taking the lower trail and found many areas to be extremely soft and the last 200m before the trail juction with Owl's Perch you will find yourself ankle deep in water.
