Alderfer-Three Sisters Park

4-4-10

Get out early and you can ride the entire park.  The first half mile of the Evergreen Mountain Trail will get very muddy as soon as the sun hits it.  The rest of the climb up to the Summit Trail is mainly snow pack, good riding, with a couple of soft spots.  The Summit Trail does get a bit icey in spots as well as the Evergreen Mountain Trail East.  The meadows (Wild Iris Loop, Bluebird Meadow and Hiidden Fawn) are all soggy in spots an will be mud by mid morning.  The Bearberry Trail, Sisters Trail and Ponderosa trail are all rideable with either sizeable snow pack or dirt.

As with most rides/runs this time of year it is best to get out early before it gets too warm and the trail gets soggy.  There is enough snow and ice that I would suggest Yak Trax for running.
